Welcome to Brush Main Street

Brush was developed as a railhead for Burlington Northern Railroad in the late 1880s and was incorporated in Weld County on October 18, 1884. The Texas-Montana cattle trail passed through Brush along Clayton Street. Originally a cattle-shipping point off the railroad, Brush is still known as a major livestock center but has since diversified its agricultural industry to include oil wells, energy, and health care.

Brush became a Colorado Main Street community in 2001 and today boasts a quaint downtown area, with a majority of the buildings dating back to the early 1900s. Visitors can sample local fare at various charming downtown restaurants or take in a little antique shopping. Brush offers a variety of outdoor activities including camping, fishing, hunting, boating and wildlife watching at the nearby Jackson and Prewitt Reservoirs and Brush Prairie Ponds State Wildlife Area.
