Welcome to Granby Main Street
Established in 1905 as a railroad town, the Town of Granby was named for railroad surveyor Granby Hillyer. Ranching has been a successful enterprise here since the 1860s and, at its heyday in the late 1960s, Granby was the center of the American guest ranch industry with over 80 ranches. Many remain in operation today, including C Lazy U Ranch, the only 5-star guest ranch in the U.S.
A designated Main Street Community since 2008, Granby is well known for its vast recreational activities, including hiking, mountain biking, boating, white-water rafting, horseback riding, fly fishing, and golfing. Granby is also home to the SolVista Ski Area. Granby and its surrounding area are also filled with historical attractions. After enjoying the sites within the city limits, visitors can enjoy the many nearby heritage attractions only a short drive away.
